The aim is to deliver enhanced convenience for consumers and drive relevancy for the brand, as households reduce in size and solus meal occasions become more popular. The single-serve option for Salmon is also part of John West’s strategy to reignite and revolutionise salmon within the ambient fish category through a more relevant pack size.
The growth of the single-serve portion range reflects John West’s commitment to reducing food waste, amidst the UK Government’s pledge to half the UK’s per capita food waste by 2030.
John West Salmon is a 100% natural source of protein, healthy and nutritious and will particularly appeal to younger shoppers looking for tasty, healthy and high-quality convenience products that fit into a busy lifestyle.
John West Tuna Infusions are infused with a delicious blend of ingredients to elevate everyday meals. These No Drain packs mean they’re convenient and cater to a range of different mealtime occasions.
Jon Burton, international marketing director, John West Foods said, “Traditionally, can sizes have always been large in size and can be a commitment for consumers to finish. Our extended Single-Serve portion range is a direct response to evolving consumer trends and the increased demand for optimal, convenient serving sizes that reduce food waste.”
