Leger WOW survey reveals top retailers in grocery, alcohol, convenience, and pharmacy sectors

Longo’s has announced it has been rated the No. 1 grocery store in Ontario, according to 2024 results for the annual Leger WOW in-store survey.

Likewise, the Wine Rack was named the No. 1 alcohol store and 7-Eleven received top marks for the convenience store category. PharmaChoice ranked No. 1 in the pharmacy section.

Measuring consumer experience, the WOW study evaluates various performance indicators specific to retail businesses in over 25 industry sectors. Data collection took place from Oct. 12 to Nov. 22. A total of 162 Ontario retailers from 21 industries were evaluated.

In Western Canada, Costco was named the top department store, while Choices Market was named the No. 1 grocery store. Wine and Beyond was ranked the No. 1 in the alcohol category and Guardian was named the best pharmacy.

In Quebec, SAQ was ranked No. 1 in the alcohol category and Proxi/Proxi Extra topped the convenience store category. Avril was named the region’s best grocery store, and Familiprix took the top spot among pharmacies.
