Legendary chef Vikram Vij had time on his side when he hosted fellow legend Mick Jagger at his eponymous Vancouver restaurant this weekend.
Jagger and the Rolling Stones returned to the city for a stop on their Hackney Diamonds tour at B.C. Place on Friday night, and the frontman decided to check out Vij’s Restaurant during his stay.
Vij posted a picture on Sunday of the pair arm in arm on the restaurant’s patio. And apparently, Mick’s visit was no quick stop for takeout, but a full night of hanging out with the reigning king of rock ‘n’ roll.

“Had the incredible honour of hosting the legendary Mick Jagger at Vij’s last night!” Vij said on Instagram. “An unforgettable evening filled with great conversations, laughter and, of course, amazing food.”
Vij called it a “magical moment” and thanked Jagger “for gracing us with your presence.”
Fans of the foodie landmark gave the post over 1,000 likes and filled the comment section with praise for both the chef and the unstoppable 80-year-old. “Two rock stars side by side,” wrote one.
Matt Petryga, who plays sitar at the restaurant on weekend nights, also posted that he was thrilled to have been able to play for a Rolling Stone.
