Michaels Expands Delivery Options via DoorDash and Uber Eats

Michaels will expand same-day delivery from its 1,200+ stores through new partnerships with DoorDash and Uber Eats. The arts and crafts retailer has offered same-day delivery via Instacart since April 2021.

Additionally, Save a Lot now has 400 of its supermarkets live on the DoorDash Marketplace, offering deliveries in under one hour, on average. The retailer plans to support SNAP/EBT payment capabilities on DoorDash later this year for on-demand delivery of SNAP-eligible groceries.

“Convenience, choice and flexibility are central to a best-in-class omnichannel experience, and it’s more important than ever to deliver on that promise to our customers,” said Heather Bennett, EVP of Marketing and Ecommerce at Michaels in a statement.

Both DoorDash and Uber Eats have been expanding their retail partnerships to new verticals in recent months. DoorDash began working with Best Buy to offer on-demand delivery in November 2023; with Pet Supplies Plus in February 2024; with beauty brands Sephora, Sally Beauty and MAC Cosmetics in March 2024; and with Lowe’s in April 2024.

Staples added Uber Eats for delivery of school and office supplies in September 2023; Big Lots partnered with Uber Eats for delivery in November 2023; and Uber Eats expanded its partnership with Rite Aid to include alcohol deliveries in April 2024.
