Networking, outdoor demos highlight new dairy event

The dairy industry will come together in-person Sept. 21 and 22, at Discovery Farm Woodstock for two days of learning and interaction.

Outdoor Dairy Days, presented by Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show in partnership with Progressive Dairy Operators, will bring farmers, agriculture businesses and industry partners together to network, share information and explore interactive demonstrations in a fun, relaxed, safe environment.

The small-scale event will include the things farmers and exhibitors love about Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show – interactive demos and exhibits, the practical information, networking and the easy-to-access site – in an event totally focused on dairy farming.

“We’re excited to have Progressive Dairy Operators partnering with us to host this event. New technology has come down the pipe over the last 18 months, and some of it will be here, so farmers can see it operate and learn about how it might be useful on their farms,” says Doug Wagner, COFS president.

Dairy producers can learn from industry partners who will demonstrate technology and equipment and provide hands-on tips and ideas to increase dairy farm efficiency. Demonstrations and presentations are scheduled to run throughout the day.

Guests can move freely through the event to visit featured programming within exhibitors’ booths and take advantage of opportunities for hands-on learning. Leading companies in the dairy industry will be in attendance and taking advantage of larger outdoor booth spaces.

To protect the healthNof guests, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, staff, suppliers and local communities, COVID-19 protocols and extra sanitation measures will be followed for this event in accordance with the Ontario health orders of the day. This includes guidelines regarding number of guests, masking and provincial requirements for proof of vaccination.

Outdoor Dairy Days runs Sept. 21 and 22, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a happy hour for networking. Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance, due to COVID-19 tracking requirements. Visitors can choose which day works best for them.
