In a deal designed to make animals (and their humans) purr with satisfaction, Pet Supplies Plus and its emerging sister brand Wag N’ Wash have partnered with Grubhub for on-demand deliveries from the retailer’s nearly 700 stores across 44 states. Pet Supplies Plus offers more than 10,000 products from 400 brands.
This isn’t Grubhub’s first move into the lucrative pet market; PetSmart added Grubhub as a delivery partner in October 2024. Grubhub, which was purchased by food hall startup Wonder for $650 million in November 2024, added other major retailers last year, including its first national grocery retailer, Albertsons, in June 2024, and the February 2024 addition of CVS.
“In everything we do, our neighbors always remain top priority,” said Chris Rowland, CEO of Pet Supplies Plus and Wag N’ Wash in a statement. “Through this partnership with Grubhub, pet owners will have another resource to ensure their furry, scaly or feathery friend is cared for.”
To celebrate the new partnership, Grubhub is offering customers 30% off orders of $30 or more from Jan. 27 to Feb. 9, 2025. Items from the retailers also will be available as part of the Grubhub+ loyalty program.
All the major delivery platforms have been diligently expanding their retailer rosters in recent months, including: Uber Eats’ deals with Wegmans, The Home Depot and Michaels; DoorDash’s with The Home Depot, Five Below and David’s Bridal; and Instacart’s addition of Ulta Beauty earlier this month.
