In the UK this week, Baxter’s Food Group is recalling Baxter’s Sliced Gherkins Crunchy & Sweet because they contain mustard, which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product poses a possible health risk for anyone with a mustard allergy.

Cereal Partners UK and Ireland are recalling Nestlé Frosted Shreddies because they may contain small hard lumps of sugar that have formed in the product. This makes the product unsafe to eat and may present a choking hazard.

In the US this week, Little Leaf Farms is voluntarily recalling a specific lot code of its Southwest Salad Kits due to the potential presence of undeclared fish and wheat allergens.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat and/or fish run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Consumers who may have purchased the potentially affected Southwest Salad Kits with this lot number are asked to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or immediately dispose of them.
Little Leaf Farms is advising affected retailers in its distribution network to remove existing products with the above-identified lot code from their shelves and warehouses.
AKT Trading Inc. is recalling certain prepared vegetable products manufactured by Choshiya Honten Co. due to a potential risk of Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium that can cause life-threatening illness or death. The affected products lack the required “Keep Refrigerated” statement, which could result in hazardous bacterial growth if stored at room temperature.
Consumers are strongly advised not to consume these products, even if they do not appear spoiled or have no unusual odour.
Symptoms of botulism include weakness, dizziness, double vision, difficulty speaking, swallowing, breathing and constipation. Anyone experiencing these symptoms should seek immediate medical attention.
No illnesses have been reported, and the recall is being carried out as a precaution.
