In the UK, The Real Wrap Company Ltd is recalling numerous ready-to-eat products including sandwiches, paninis, rolls, toasties and wraps as the products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The Real Wrap Company Ltd has confirmed that the recall only affects products sold at retail stores in health care settings.

As well as recalling the impacted products, the company has shared that point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that stocked the product.

Advice to consumers states that anyone who has purchased the recalled items from health care settings, should not eat it. Instead, the product can be returned to the place of purchase for a refund.

Meanwhile in the US, lassic Delight LLC, a St. Mary’s, OH firm has announced that it is recalling a limited number of individually wrapped sandwiches as they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The products in question were shipped to distributors located in various states in the US including Arkansas, California, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

The company has highlighted that products may end up in food service distribution, convenience stores and vending. In addition, a statement posted on the US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) website confirmed that the recalled items were produced between May 11, 2023 and June 6, 2024. After environmental samples were tested and showed positive results for Listeria monocytogenes, the recall was initiated. The company has provided an update noting the production of these products has been suspended while the FDA and the company continue to investigate the source of the problem.

“To date, there have been no reports of illness or adverse reactions due to consumption of these products,” said lassic Delight LLC in a statement.

Advice to consumers states that anyone who is concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider. However, anyone that has purchased a recalled product has been advised to discard it or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
