Salmonella contamination sparks B.C. class action lawsuit against Quaker Oats and PepsiCo

Slater Vecchio LLP, a Vancouver law firm, has filed a class action lawsuit against The Quaker Oats Company and PepsiCo Canada ULC.

The lawsuit comes following the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s recall of 38 Quaker products on Jan. 11. It represents all Canadians who purchased or claim to have fallen ill from consuming the recalled Quaker products.

The recall, which included over 30 yogurt and parfait products containing the granola in question, was initiated in response to possible Salmonella contamination. It was focused on Quaker-branded cereal and granola goods. The Government of Canada’s recall database lists recalled products, current as of Jan. 16.
