Sask. tree farm operator charged under immigration legislation
REGINA — A Weyburn, Sask., man has been charged with three offences under foreign worker and immigration legislation.
Rodney Sidloski was charged under section 22 of the Foreign Worker Recruitment and Immigration Services Act and the Immigration Services Act after alleged offences against two people at his HELP International Shelterbelt Centre.
The FWRISA charges involving one of the two people are: produce or distribute false or misleading information including producing false payroll records; misrepresent employment opportunities, including position, duties, length of employment, wages and benefits or other terms of employment; and take unfair advantage of a foreign national’s trust or exploit their fear or lack of experience or knowledge.

Those offences are alleged to have occurred between May 2022 and August 2024, the provincial government said.
Against the second person, he is charged with producing or distributing false or misleading information such as false payroll records, taking advantage of a foreign national’s trust or exploiting fear and producing false or misleading information under sections of the Immigration Services Act.
Those offences allegedly occurred at the tree farm between June 2022 and June 2024.
The provincial government said foreign workers or immigrants who have concerns about their rights should contact the Program Compliance Branch at the Immigration and Career Training ministry.
