As sport programming carefully re-opens, the pandemic has posed significant challenges for Special Olympics Canada and there is much to be done to get its 41,200+ athletes, coaches and volunteers back to action.
From June 2 – 16, Sobeys, Safeway, IGA, Thrifty Foods, Foodland, Lawtons, Needs, and Safeway Gas Bar stores across Canada will come together to support Special Olympics Canada with a national in-store check-stand fundraising campaign.
A $2 donation covers one day of participation in Special Olympics activities for an athlete in Canada. 100% of funds raised support programs that empower individuals with an intellectual disability thorough sport, health and fitness to build the confidence to take on any challenge in life.
To help support the campaign, Special Olympics Canada athlete ambassadors who love to celebrate living a healthy active lifestyle have been identified by their local chapter and will be featured in local grocery stores and campaign advertising efforts.
