Super Liquor Appoint New CEO

Super Liquor Holdings has announced the appointment of Morgan McCann as the new Chief Executive Officer.

McCann joins the national liquor retail franchise from Mico New Zealand, a division of Fletcher Building, where he was General Manager and led a network of 70 locations, two distribution centres, and 520 people.

Before joining Fletcher’s, McCann was with the Foodstuffs co-operative for over ten years, working in a range of senior leadership roles across the business that culminated in being Head of New World, where he was responsible for the market and operational performance of the brand across 106 owner-operated stores.

McCann started his Foodstuffs career with Liquorland as National Retail Manager after time with Lion Liquor Retail as Merchandise and Marketing Manager, and prior to that at Lion for five years.

McCann said he was very much looking forward to a return to the industry he is so passionate about after spending more than eight years tracking it from the sidelines.

“I’m delighted to be returning to the liquor retail sector, and the opportunity to lead a large  New Zealand franchise business in Super Liquor – with franchisees that are passionate about  what they do, a brand with strong heritage and the ability to drive positive outcomes in a very  dynamic market.”

McCann will take up his role on Monday, 17th June 2024.

Super Liquor is a national retail liquor chain with a network of bottle stores across New Zealand from Kaitaia to Invercargill. Each store is a locally owned and operated business that has entered into a franchise agreement with Super Liquor.
