Target Goes to the Dogs (and Cats) for ‘Cuddle Collab’ Product Launch

Target will launch an exclusive collection for pets and pet lovers, The Cuddle Collab, with more than 180 pieces inspired by six social media “fur-fluencers.” The items, starting at $3, will be available beginning Sept. 21 online and in most Target stores, while supplies last.

The collection will include cozy sweatshirts, hats and charms, including a custom charm bar that lets customers create a matching necklace and collar for them and their pet. Home products include pet beds, cat houses and condos, pet figurine bookends and exclusive Stanley products such as bowls and tumblers. Toys and games as well as pet treats in new seasonal flavors also are included in the assortment.

The Cuddle Collab was inspired by the Kardashians of the animal world: dogs and cats who live in the spotlight as “fur-fluencers” on social media. Partners include therapy pups Ellie and Emma; modern cats Zelda, Titus and Brave; foodie dog Popeye; pup fashionistas Ghost and Wren; self-care loving Maple Cat; and dog and cat best friends Baloo and Pan, who together boast more than 6 million followers on Instagram alone.

“We know shoppers turn to Target to help them care for their families, and for millions of people — including 70% of Target guests — pets are family,” said Jill Sando, EVP And Chief Merchandising Officer of Apparel and Accessories, Home and Hardlines at Target in a statement. “The Cuddle Collab is all about celebrating our pets, and it’s a fun way to extend our design expertise to the entire family — pets and the people who love them.”

On the Sept. 21 launch day, select Target locations will host in-store events and giveaways. The Cuddle Collab also extends to Target’s five-part reality-style social series, The Pets of Tarjay, which will spotlight the collection and offer viewers opportunities to engage with the assortment as the storyline unfolds.
