Celebrities, they’re just like us. Right?
Well, in the case of American actor Miles Teller and his summer plans, the Top Gun: Maverick and War Dogs star has a seasonal itinerary that sounds pretty similar to what the rest of us will be doing.
“I enjoy spending time with friends and family outdoors, going down to the lake and playing some golf during the day,” Teller says. “At night, I enjoy having a fire going and listening to music with a side cooler full of Long Drink.”
Speaking in support of the canned alcoholic beverage brand, which recently launched in Western Canada with the help of Vancouverite Anthony von Mandl’s Mark Anthony Group (the makers of White Claw), Teller pointed to an ice-cold version of the original Long Drink as his go-to sip during a perfect summer day.

Co-founded by four entrepreneurs, Teller is positioned as a co-owner of the company. He joins DJ Kygo — a friend of Teller’s — and professional golfer Rickie Fowler in the role.
“I was inspired by the brand story, the founders and the unique taste,” Teller says of how he became involved. “Nothing like it exists in the U.S., so when I stumbled upon a sampling of Long Drink at a random liquor store in NYC a few years ago, I was intrigued.
“I made contact through a mutual friend who I learned was connected to the founders — and the rest is history.”
Teller’s involvement with the brand has undoubtedly helped to build buzz around the alcoholic beverage.
A drink category that was “invented” in Finland in 1952 in celebration of the Summer Olympics in Helsinki, the Long Drink typically sees gin and grapefruit juice combined in a tall — or “long,” hence the name — glass. Launched in the U.S. in 2018, The Finnish Long Drink brand has introduced various iterations of the cocktail.
Traditional Citrus and Zero Sugar Citrus Long Drink flavours are available in liquor stores across B.C., Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan this month. The new-to-Canada drink will find stiff competition on shelves from the strong number of homegrown canned cocktail brands such as The Straight & Narrow, LOLO Drink Company and Nude.

Despite the crowded cooler, Teller is eager to see how his drink will fare with Canadian cocktail enthusiasts.
“I’m obviously excited to launch Long Drink in Canada,” Teller says. “It’s been a long time coming and a big first step in bringing our brand to more people around the world. We’re looking forward to building awareness for Long Drink throughout this amazing country.”
Fans might spot Teller around Vancouver as he works on the film Eternity this July with Academy Award winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers) and Marvel actor Elizabeth Olsen. Directed by David Freyne, the film is about a group of people who have a week to decide who they want to spend eternity with.
As for what’s next for Teller, the actor pointed to some time away from the spotlight as an upcoming personal calendar highlight.
“I’m wrapping up a movie right now,” he reveals. “And then I’ll disappear for a little bit.”
