Thunderstruck Ag Equipment celebrates innovation win
Jeremy Matuszewski of Thunderstruck Ag Equipment didn’t mince words when asked what winning an innovation award at Ag In Motion 2025 felt like.
“It’s like winning an Oscar,” Matuszewski said.
He noted that AIM is one of three key outdoor farm shows in North America, including Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, set for September near Woodstock, Ont. and the U.S. Farm Progress Show, set for Decatur, Illinois in August. Winning an award at that level made it all the more meaningful, he said.

The founder and president of Thunderstruck was celebrating recognition in the equipment category for the firm’s new Razor’s Edge concave line that’s been designed around individual combines.
It eliminates the need to change from crop-to-crop and increases the separating capacity and cleaning efficiency of the machine by balancing the separating area with the bar spacing.
“It’s unique, there’s nothing like it in the world, where there’s a concave based on how the material flows through a combine,” Matuszewski said.
“My Case concave is completely different than my Deere concave, completely different than my Fendt concave, my New Holland, my X9 is different than the STS. They’re all different, and that’s what makes us unique.”
The design makes operations more efficient for the producer and also contributes to smoother running and fuel savings, he added, by allowing a slower rotor speed, wider concave clearance and other adjustments.
The Winkler, Man.-based operation was originally formed in 2013, as a company to help other companies sell their products.
“It’s kind of a crazy story — we weren’t even in agriculture,” he said.
The first foray into the sector happened with a farmer-invented spoked gauge wheel in 2014.
“That really started the journey of falling in love with farming, farmers, and what agriculture is all about,” he said.
Eventually they began designing and selling their own farm equipment and the Razor’s Edge is their second in-house agricultural product.
