Walmart Canada raises $4.7M for children’s health

Walmart Canada’s annual holiday Spark a Miracle fundraising campaign has raised $4.7 million to support the Children’s Miracle Network.

“We’re so proud of our associates and overwhelmed by the generosity of our customers who continue to prioritize children’s health,” says Rob Nicol, vice president of corporate affairs and communications at Walmart Canada.

“Their generosity and ongoing commitment continue to have an incredible impact on children’s hospitals across the country,” adds Adam Starkman, president and CEO of Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations.

For every Walmart Teddy purchased between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, the company pledged to donate $2 to Children’s Miracle Network, with contributions capped at $200,000. Customers were also encouraged to show their support by donating at checkout in Walmart Canada’s over 400 stores or online at Walmart.ca.

Since 1994, Walmart Canada has given over $215 million to the Children’s Miracle Network.
