NORTH PRARIE, Wisconsin – September 23, 2024 – In response to our customers’ request, Zero Zone has a 90-bar (1305 PSIG) rated display case and system solution. Designing with 90-bar rated components significantly reduces the frequency and impact of refrigeration safety relief events, ensuring optimal system performance and minimizing downtime.
Traditional CO2 refrigeration systems have been designed with a 45-bar pressure rating on the flash tank, liquid lines, evaporator, suction lines, and their associated fittings. The operating characteristics of CO2 as a refrigerant have led to a growing trend towards higher-pressure rated components. The increased pressure capacity with 90-bar rated components allows for greater temperature tolerance during downtime events, reducing the likelihood of safety relief events and minimizing refrigerant loss. Reducing a system’s downtime and loss of refrigerant can lead to significant cost savings over the long term.
“Our vision at Zero Zone is to preserve customer valuables through refrigeration,” stated Kali Kinziger, Product Manager for the Cases Division. “Offering 90-bar as a solution helps us achieve that goal. By reducing refrigerant loss, we’re making a sustainable choice with long-term value.”
The 90-bar rating is an option for CO2 refrigerated display cases at Zero Zone. Please reach out to your Zero Zone sales representative to discuss options for your refrigeration solutions.
