Bel Group’s Quebec plant reaches zero waste to landfill status

Bel Group Canada’s Babybel manufacturing plant in Sorel-Tracy, Que., achieves zero waste to landfill status.

All residual materials generated at the plant have not been sent to landfill since Dec. 1, 2025.

We are proud of the tangible measures we have implemented to reach our zero waste to landfill objective across our Canadian operations,” said Cristine Laforest, CEO, Bel Group Canada.

Bel achieved this by eliminating residual materials, reusing materials for animal nutrition, and recycling locally. The remaining fraction is incinerated.
