Irritec expands its presence in South America with a new subsidiary in Peru

“We are one of the leading companies in the field of precision irrigation, with 15 international subsidiaries and a global network of more than 15,000 experts. Since 1974, the Irritec group has been focusing on high-tech solutions designed to optimize environmental resources and production processes, guaranteeing excellent quality standards,” said Giulia Giuffrè (pictured here), board member and ambassador of sustainability of the company. “For this reason, we decided to open a new office in Peru, where we will develop and consolidate our presence in a strategic market such as Central and South America, where we are already present with branches in Brazil, Mexico and Chile”.

Irritec Peru was founded with the aim of offering customers an even more complete and efficient service, guaranteeing assistance during the installation and after-sales phases thanks to a more widespread distribution capacity.

In addition, through the Irritec Academy, the company’s training centre, local agronomists will have the opportunity to participate in on-site training courses to acquire further knowledge in the field of precision irrigation.

“Irritec Peru will help support local agriculture by offering an even more integrated support service and by fostering the use of drip irrigation and fertirrigation systems in one of the world’s most agriculturally specialized areas. Latin America and the Caribbean account for 14% of global food production and 45% of net international agri-food trade, with almost 50% of employment (FAO, April 2021). This highly productive agriculture method therefore requires the adoption of sustainable agri-food systems that can ensure the preservation of biodiversity, greater water efficiency and more equity for smallholders and indigenous communities”.

Not everyone knows that Peru, which is historically a mining country, is also one of the world’s largest producers of fruit and vegetables thanks to its particular morphology. It is ranked among the top 10 countries in the world for biodiversity, with 84 of the 104 life zones and 27 of the 32 climates identified on the planet Earth.

With an area of 2,700 square meters, Irritec Peru will contribute to the creation of a strategic hub for the entire area, which will help the development of the country’s economy and support local agriculture. It is thanks to their dedication, passion and professionalism that we have been able to achieve this important goal,” said Sergio Cornu, Irritec commercial director for Chile and Peru.
