Made-in-Canada Goldys cereal on Artemis II mission menu

Goldys Strawberry Lavender Superseed cereal was one of five Canadian F&B products that was on the Artemis II mission’s menu.

Two years ago, Goldys, an Ontario-based cereal manufacturer, was contacted by the Canadian Space Agency to explore whether its products could meet the rigorous standards required for space travel.

The company undertook a months-long collaboration with the Canadian Space Agency and NASA to test and evaluate their products’ shelf life, microbiological safety, nutritional value, and performance in microgravity conditions to see if it could make the journey to space. The products were eventually deemed fit for space, and the Strawberry Lavender Superseed cereal was added to the Mission’s menu.

“This is more than a food story – it’s a uniquely Canadian moment,” said Daniel Schneider, co-founder & CEO of Goldys. “As the world watches this week’s landing and looks ahead to future lunar missions, we’re proud to see a Canadian product playing a small but meaningful role in fuelling human space exploration.”
