Sheena Russell, founder and CEO of the Dartmouth, N.S.-based food manufacturing company Made with Local, is on a mission to compete with the bigger players in the protein and snack bar manufacturing industry.

Headquartered out of Dartmouth, N.S., the company boasts a full, vertically integrated supply chain where they prioritize sourcing Canadian-grown oats and other local ingredients, going from recipe development, to baking, packaging and distributing from their facilities in Dartmouth and Halifax.

According to Sheena, rather than outsourcing production overseas or to co-packers, they have made a commitment to growing in Canada, creating local jobs and maintaining full control over their products.
