Bridge2Food brings together key leaders from all along the value chain who are working to drive transformation in the plant-based industry. The Netherlands-based company is hosting its highly regarded Plant-Based Foods & Proteins Summit Americas in Chicago, May 10-12.
“The industry is at a crossroads: collaboration across the value chain as well as between brands will be essential to raising the bar and keeping the consumer engaged,” says CEO Gerard Klein Essink. “At this Bridge2Food summit there is the unique opportunity to connect with decision-makers all along the value chain, including startups.”
Some of the 75 speakers and panelists at the Americas Summit include Gabriela Perez-Hernandez of Kellogg’s; Lyndsay McCorkle of Blue Horizon; Meghana Kodali of SPINS; Christian Flinn of the Plant-Based Foods Association; Michael Peters of MISTA / Givaudan; Priera Panescu of Good Food Institute; James Street of Protein Industries Canada; and startups such as Jack & Friends, Liven Proteins, Black Sheep Foods, Fybraworks & Rainfed Foods.
There are three tracks during the summit so delegates are able to personalize their experience to fit their immediate business goals: Consumer & Industry Challenges, Delicious Food Innovations, and Sustainable Process Innovations. All these discussions will be overlaid with a mind to sustainability concerns.
There is particular interest in the Track III discussions led by Akshay Arora from Ingredion around novel technologies and processes. Addressed will be what key technologies will emerge in the next few years, and how can they help with themes like sustainability, affordability and taste.
Look for presentations by Christell Theis of GEA Group, Fabrice Garrigue of Improve, Ryan Kromhout of Krohne, Celine Worth of Nestle, Mathias Aschenbrenner of Flottweg, Jean-Francois Marechal of Poittemill and Greg See Hoye of Dedert.
Of course, making new connections is one of the most valuable benefits of the summit and one of the strengths of any Bridge2Food event. On top of the welcome reception, networking dinner, exhibition hall and many informal moments available, Bridge2Food offers scheduled one-to-one business meetings so delegates can be sure to connect with clients and future customers who are most relevant to their needs and goals. Once they register, and two weeks before the event, delegates can download an app to book meetings in advance with any of the 400 delegates. With 30-plus networking hours, key connections are made and business gets done.
Bridge2Food has been hosting summits since 2002 and it will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in person with the best in business and thought leaders focused on making a difference at all levels of the plant-based foods and proteins industries.
