Registrations open for Arrell Food Summit 2021

Registration is now open for the fourth annual Arrell Food Summit. The one-day event on Oct. 28, 2021, will be online due to pandemic restrictions and a commitment to safety for presenters and attendees.

With a theme of “Turning Ideas into Action”, this year’s event will feature transformative, timely discussions about current food systems, and how ideas and theories can be accelerated into positive change in the agricultural and food sectors.

“This year’s summit is about nourishing, growing and cultivating ideas into action,” says Evan Fraser, director of Arrell Food Institute. “We’ll be learning about proven, solution-driven approaches from industry academics and business leaders with a focus on strategies that strengthen and sustain our food system and communities.”

Topics include entrepreneurship, climate change and Indigenous food sovereignty, and attendees will leave with inspiration on how to action food system change, expert tips on building influence and lessons in ensuring that efforts breed impact. Back by popular demand, the flavour of this year’s digital event will also be enhanced with a pre-summit virtual cocktail class delivered by award-winning bartender Harry Hanson.

The 2021 summit will include interactive sessions, on-demand content, video networking and break-out sessions. Also offered is a specially curated summit kit for all-inclusive pass holders which includes custom-made shortbread, Red Hen popcorn, luxury loose-leaf tea from Cup of Te, the University of Guelph’s own Cannon hot sauce, an autographed copy of speaker Joshna Maharaj’s Take Back the Tray and more.

Registration, program details and speaker information can be found at the summit website.
