Schnucks to debut remodeled store with food hall

This weekend, Schnuck Markets plans to hold the grand reopening of its remodeled store in Kirkwood, Mo., highlighted by a food hall and a clothing outlet.

St. Louis-based Schnucks announced the Oct. 10 event yesterday in marking the completion of the 60,000-square-foot store’s renovation. Located at 10233 Manchester Rd., the store opened in 1987 as a replacement of the original location in Kirkwood, where Schnucks has served the community since 1954.

The new foodservice concept features popular local eateries including The Shaved Duck, Seoul Taco and The Greek Kitchen, and each restaurant partner operates a small service counter and shares a common seating area. Also, a store-within-a-store department will feature St. Louis-based brand Arch Apparel, which offers city-inspired “streetwear” ranging from tops and bottoms to outerwear, hats and accessories.

Schnucks noted that customers will immediately notice an updated building exterior, and inside the store, a fresh new look with a “fresh choices” theme. Updates include a new produce department, kombucha on tap, a self-serve nut butter section and an expanded grab-and-go meal section. Other features include a new natural living department, a refreshed liquor and cold beer area, and modernized fixtures and displays throughout the store, which has 95 employees.

“We thank our shoppers for their patience as we worked to bring them an updated store with many new offerings and amenities,” Kirkwood store manager Vicky Reiling said in a statement. “Now that the remodel is complete, we’re proud to bring the Kirkwood area and our customers a modern store but with the same focus on great customer service.”
