In this week’s recap of the Top 10 most popular Supermarket News articles, the top story was Walmart resuming Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccinations. Among other stories featured in this week’s gallery:

  • Instacart campaign turns spotlight on its personal shoppers
  • Google Pay serves up grocery deals for Safeway
  • For first time, digital coupons overtake print circulars in redemption

Two studies made it on our list this week. U.S. grocery shoppers are gradually returning to in-store purchases as more Americans receive COVID-19 vaccines, a new survey from Inmar Intelligence finds. When it comes to home delivery, U.S. online shoppers clearly favor speed, the latest NielsenIQ omnibus poll finds. Same-day delivery, same-day pickup and next-day/later pickup all gained traction among online consumers during the COVID-19 pandemic, whereas two-day and next-day delivery lost interest, according to NielsenIQ’s Omnichannel Shopping Fundamentals Survey, conducted Feb. 26 to March 28.

In other news, Supercenter retailer Meijer has topped 1 million COVID-19 vaccines administered through its pharmacies’ in-store clinics. Meijer also said it’s now launching a walk-in coronavirus vaccination program at all of its pharmacy locations.
